Research Description:

Interleukin-1B (IL-1B) is an all beta sheet protein with a complex six hairpin fold. This topology seems to make IL-1B slower folding compared to other proteins. One aim of our research is to study the interplay between the energetic landscape and folding kinetics of IL-1B and its topology. Circular permutants of IL-1B have been synthesized in the laboratory. We use Go-model simulations of these circular permutants with enhanced sampling to study the effect of the permutations on the transition state ensemble (TSE).

Note: The CTBP publication database system contains a record of all papers published by CTBP faculty, post-doctoral scholars and students. The automated retrievel system does not distinguish between CTBP authors and non-CTBP authors with similar initials/names, hence on rare occassions it incorrectly will include a citation for paper that was not the work of the CTBP person listed (but a CTBP collaborator with similar initials/name).
